Cookie notice
Last updated October 7, 2026
This notice explains how Incbury uses cookies and similar technologies on incbury.co.uk (this website) and in Incbury Chat at chat.incbury.co.uk (the app). Our full privacy policy covers everything else.
This website
incbury.co.uk sets no cookies unless you ask it to remember something. There are no advertising pixels, no third-party analytics scripts and no embedded social widgets. Because nothing is stored without your request, there is nothing to consent to and no banner to dismiss.
| Cookie | Purpose | Lifetime |
|---|---|---|
NEXT_LOCALE | Remembers the language you picked from the language menu, so the home page opens in it next time. Only set when you choose a language. | 1 year |
currency | Remembers the currency you picked for showing prices. Only set when you choose a currency. | 1 year |
We do count page views. When you load a page, your browser sends a small request to our own server with the path, the page language, the referring site and your screen width. Your IP address and browser are hashed together with a secret key and the current date, so the result changes every day: we can tell "one visitor, three pages" from "three visitors" without storing an identifier that survives past midnight. The beacon is not sent if your browser has Do Not Track or Global Privacy Control enabled.
Attribution parameters such as ref or utm_source in a link you followed are kept in your browser's session storage only, so they can be passed to the sign-up page. They are cleared when you close the tab.
Incbury Chat
The app uses only strictly necessary cookies. They cannot be turned off without breaking sign-in.
| Cookie | Purpose | Lifetime |
|---|---|---|
atom_refresh | Keeps you signed in to Incbury Chat | 30 days, renewed while you use Incbury. You are signed out after 14 days without use or 90 days in total |
atom_csrf | Protects forms and API requests against cross-site request forgery | 30 days, renewed with your sign-in |
atom_device | A random identifier that recognizes a browser you have signed in from, so we can warn you about new devices | 400 days |
theme | Remembers your light or dark preference | 1 year |
If you sign in with Google, Google sets its own cookies on its domains during the sign-in flow under Google's privacy policy.
To stop automated sign-ups and password guessing, the sign-up, password reset and verification forms, and the sign-in form after repeated failed attempts, show a Google reCAPTCHA check. reCAPTCHA may set cookies on Google's domains and collects hardware and software information, such as device and application data, which Google uses to provide the check. Its use is subject to Google's privacy policy and terms of service. It is strictly necessary for account security and is not used for advertising.
Managing cookies
You can delete or block cookies in your browser settings. Blocking the app's cookies will sign you out. Clearing site data removes your language, currency and theme preferences and any stored attribution parameters.
